Taking the lead from the wonderful vendors who were also involved in a dream France wedding that had to be cancelled due to Covid, I crafted and sent this letter to the lovely couple, and with their permission I am sharing it here with everyone who had to go through a similar difficult decision.
I am privileged to be working not only with the most respectful Couples, but also some of the kindest people-vendors, who make the psychological well-being of their couples their top priority. This is a message of Hope and Gratitude!
Life is filled with trying times. But look at what you have achieved! You have used this time to make plans for your future. You have shared your fears and hopes and reached difficult decisions that are vital in order for you to thrive. You have also made connections and built relations that you have honoured with kindness and respect.
I cannot tell you where it all leads. But here is what I do know:
There is always a time for flowers , and bells will toll triumphantly whenever you wish!
Reflecting back to these trying times, there will be a day, when you will proudly see that you are a family capable of overcoming anything!
This poem comes to mind (βSaint Francis and the Sowβ, by Galway Kinnell):
The bud
stands for all things,
even for those things that donβt flower,
for everything flowers, from within, of self-blessing;
though sometimes it is necessary
to reteach a thing its loveliness,
to put a hand on its brow
of the flower
and retell it in words and in touch
it is lovely
until it flowers again from within.
I know that our paths will meet again, and therefore I will have the opportunity to fulfil the promise I once made to you: to create for you with compassion and kindness.
