Ensconced in the heart of century-old olive plains in the Itria Valley, is the enchanting Masseria Montenapoleone. Here, Penelope Cullen of Tigerlily Weddings conceptualized and brought to life a design that is the perfect balance of a contemporary, minimalist celebration and the unpretentious charm of Puglia, all perfectly combined with sweet layers over layers of romantic ruffles! The idea was born from the desire to create a style that matches the romantic Apulian environment, all inspired by the spaces and the iconic Masseria. Hence the concept of “Air” was born: a minimalist and elegant photoshoot filled with unconventional, organic, and delicate details.
In Penelope Cullen’s words, “The shoot’s color palette is predominantly white with touches of grey, silver, garden greens, and little gold accents. I felt it was really important for the overall feeling to feel soft, airy, and effortlessly blended. Within the design, I wanted to embrace nature but add touches that mirror the restraint of the modern minimalist couple.”
Our bride’s gown by Katya Katya dances in the warm Sirocco Wind as it blows from North Africa! Hand-embroidered Swarovski crystals sit on the waistline whilst French lace ruffles create a full yet effortless skirt. The impressive gown is dazzling in the streaming southern sunshine and is brightened by the vivid pots of red geraniums and cacti that adorn the Masseria’s gardens.

To bring to life the concept and mindset of everything elegant and naturalistic, the table was dressed with soft stone-washed Italian linen and taper candles. Natural materials like ceramic vases and plates set the table, with organic linen cloths, crystal glasses, and pure white candles complementing and completing the tablescape. A large branch with little porcelain birds dancing with the installation echoed the surrounding nature but also added a whimsical magical element. The crystal glassware gave the table a luxe and ethereal finish, further enhanced by the napkins monogram embroidery, designed by international calligrapher Veronica Halim.
We had a single-tier wedding cake that is sweet seduction in pure white, with lots of soft textures. The feathers and ferns amongst the wildflowers add a natural element to the design. The stunning calligraphy stationery suite was created in partnership with Veronica Halim, whose expressive and delicate penmanship embraces the romance and softness of the shoot. Angelica, of Flower Addicted, created the beautiful bouquet in neutral, soft tones along with the color palette of the venue.
