Sarah Ingle & Daniel Colascione's
A Lake Como wedding at Villa Sola Cabiati, followed by a breathtaking ceremony at Villa del Balbianello, creates the perfect setting for a truly cinematic and luxurious celebration. Sarah Ingle, an inspiring science influencer, and Daniel Colascione, a brilliant software visionary, brought their love story to life in two of Lake Como’s most iconic venues—blending historical grandeur with a touch of Star Wars magic.
I had the privilege of working with Rachel Birthistle’s The Lake Como Wedding Planner, known for orchestrating some of the region’s most legendary weddings.
The wedding featured Villa Sola Cabiati and Villa del Balbianello, renowned for their cinematic allure. Sarah’s stunning Galia Lahav Élysée wedding dress was complemented by ethereal touches, including an extraterrestrial-themed bouquet by Rattiflora, and a creative video game-style invitation that added a personal and fun twist to this elegant event.
Inspired by the wedding’s extraterrestrial theme—a perfect reflection of the couple’s shared love for Star Wars—the bouquet by the uber-talented Wedding Florist Rattiflora was a true masterpiece and one of the most innovative wedding bouquets I have ever photographed. Designed to complement the cinematic elegance of a luxury wedding in Lake Como, it featured cascading tentacle-like forms, meticulously crafted from hundreds of intricately woven hyacinth cascades. This unique floral arrangement added an ethereal touch to the wedding in Balbianello, enhancing the venue’s already magical atmosphere and making it an unforgettable part of the couple’s wedding gallery.
With floral artistry by Rattiflora, expert planning by The Lake Como Wedding Planner, and a unique extraterrestrial-inspired theme, their wedding was an unforgettable fusion of romance, elegance, and innovation.
This experience wouldn’t have been the same without my wife, Alexia Themistocleous, who joined me as my second master photographer, adding to the intimate and personal feel of the day.

Sarah's first look with her father took place in Villa Sola Cabiati's stucco room, known as the Sala degli Stucchi.
Instead of traditional paper wedding invitations, the couple created their own retro-style video game as a unique way to invite their guests. Each guest had a personalized character in the game, and by completing a series of quests, they unlocked the wedding details!

A treasure of the FAI (Fondo Ambiente Italiano) heritage collection, Villa del Balbianello’s cinematic allure has captivated many. This iconic Lake Como wedding venue famously served as the backdrop for the iconic wedding scene between Padmé and Anakin in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones. It was also featured in the James Bond film Casino Royale.

Rattiflora's candlelit table setup seamlessly blends elegance with otherworldly beauty, making it the perfect complement for a Lake Como wedding. Inspired by alien-like florals, the arrangement showcases flowers woven in a delicate Japanese style, resembling extraterrestrial plants.
The highlight of the evening was the green cotton candy! The boldest guests gave it a try, sometimes crafting giant, fluffy clouds of sugar—or, occasionally, some not-so-successful creations!
